BORNEO ORANGUTAN TOUR DESCRIPTION
The 6 days visit orangutan and trekking program designed for special Peoples who would like to have bit
challenging trekking through tropical rainforest but also to who love wildlfe apecially orangutan. Trekking area will be
started from Pondok Tanggui camp to Pesalat camp which is took around 1 days trek. The best time to do this program is during
dry season as mentioned above , during rainy season the forest cover with water because most our trek area is swamp forest.
Overnight in the middle of the forest is one of the highlight of this program, This program is the combination between 5 days regular
program and 5 days orangutan trekking program.
DAY BY DAY ITINERARY
Day 1 : Pangkalan Bun - National Park
Fly to Pangkalan Bun, Upon arrival greeting with our guide then cruise up the sekoyer river by special and comfortable tourist boat ( Klotok ), rest of afternoon enjoy observing wildlife around the river bank using boat. Proboscis monkey, long tail macaque and some birds are the list of animal you may see along the ride. ( L, D )
Day 2 : Park - Camp Leakey
We will cruise up the river to Camp Leakey, as known as old rehabilitation center and research center for orangutan since 1971. almost 300 hundred orphaned orangutan had been released in the forest. This give us opportunity to hike and explore the tropical rain forest searching for this orangutan and other wildlife surrounding camp leakey. Accompanied with the ranger who have been involved with Orangutan for years. We will go back to the boat during lunch time then at 14.00 aclock we will witness feeding time for rehabilitated orangutan. ( B, L, D )
Day 3 : Pondok Tanggui - Overnight at the forest at Pesalat
Today cruise and visit the other different camp rehabilitation of orangutan at Pondok Tanggui, witness morning feeding time for rehabilitated orangutan. Then we start trek from Pondok tanggui to Pesalat camp for around 4 to 5 hours. searching wildlife as well as tropical jungle plant a long the way. reach Pesalat in the afternoon set the tend up the platform and enjoy overnight at the forest. During the night you may would like to have night observation for nocturnal wildlife. ( B, L, D )
Day 4 : Pesalat sightseeing - Camp Leakey
Early morning is the best time for bird watching, or just enjoy the forest surrounding while enjoy breakfast. Our beginning activities today, join with replantation project by planting the tropical plant. back to the boat, for having lunch. boat up the river for second visit at Camp Leakey. witness feeding time, overnight on the boat. Day 5 : Pondok Tanggui - Tanjung harapan - Pangkalan Bun hotel
Today our last visit to orangutan, second visit at Pondok Tanggui to witness feeding time, afterward boat back to Kumai after lunch. direct transfer to Pangkalan Bun hotel, Afternoon city tour, we will visit traditional village along by arut river and suntanned palace. Dinner serve at Local restaurant and back to hotel for the night
Day 6 : Pangkalan Bun - Sightseeing - airport
Free morning program until the time to transfer to airport for next destination ( B ) . Tour end.
