BORNEO ORANGUTAN TOUR DESCRIPTION Tanjung Puting national Park as home of wildlife. The 5 days program designed for special interest and would like get involved more with nature and wildlife experience "specially orangutan". It suitable for orangutan lover and the peoples who love trekking through the forest and also to whom loves photograph. 2 times visiting Camp Leakey give you more challenging experiences due Camp Leakey inhabitat by more than 300 rehabilitated orangutan and around more then 30 orangutan regularly come back and stay for while around the ranger area. It will give you chance to meet different orangutan in next visit. To whom love trekking, camp leakey provide more than 40 trails ant it will lead you trek more to the deep of the jungle. At the last Your orangutan wildlife trips and adventure trekking through tropical rain forest will give you more than just experiences.
DAY BY DAY ITINERARY
Day 1 : Pangkalan Bun - National Park
Fly to Pangkalan Bun, Upon arrival greeting with our guide then cruise up the sekoyer river by special and comfortable tourist boat ( Klotok ), rest of afternoon enjoy observing wildlife around the river bank using boat.
Proboscis monkey, long tail macaque and some birds are the list of animal you may see along the ride. ( L, D )
Day 2 : Full day camp leakey orangutan rehabilitation center
We will cruise up the river to Camp Leakey, as known as old rehabilitation center and research center for orangutan since 1971. almost 300 hundred orphaned orangutan had been released in the forest. This give us opportunity to hike and explore the tropical rain forest searching for this orangutan and other wildlife surrounding camp leakey. Accompanied with the ranger who have been involved with Orangutan for years. We will go back to the boat during lunch time then at 14.00 aclock we will witness feeding time for rehabilitated orangutan. ( B, L, D )
Day 3 : Pondok Tanggui - Tanjung harapan
Today cruise and visit the other different camp rehabilitation of orangutan at Pondok Tanggui, witness morning feeding time for rehabilitated orangutan. Down the river and stop at Pesalat camp where you will see the forest rehabilitation project. we take this chance to learn and involved the reforestation project as one of our responsible to keep the nature and wildlife. In the afternoon, continuing the trip by visiting Tanjung harapan rehabilitation center and witness afternoon feeding time. Late afternoon we could visit The small village near by the national park to see the local peoples activities . If you would like to take small hike during night, our team will guide you to the forest of Pesalat to observe nocturnal animal and searching for blowing mushroom ( Depend to the weather ) or we can just easy cruise down the river while having dinner to see group of fireflies. Day 4 : Camp leakey - trekking trips
Today we will cruise up the river come back to Camp Leakey. As the camp know as home of orangutan you may meet and see different orangutan or other wildlife surrounding the forest.
Day 5 : Park - kumai - Pangkalan Bun airport
Free morning program or just enjoy the forest and surrounding, before transfer to Airport for your next destination ( B ) . Tour end.
